The food is always good, like what I would make at home; meat, potatoes, veg with good portion sizes. Fish and chips are amazing.

I have eaten at the cove so many times because my grandparents live next door. It's very hit and miss unfortunately but not because of the food.
The food is always good - The fish and chips are awesome there. I have never heard any complaints about the food anytime we have gone.
The issue is definitely the service.
Some of the waitresses definitely carry a chip on their shoulder.
There's a blonde lady in particular who doesn't seem to have the patients to be a waitress - especially when their regulars are all seniors.
They recently renovated and it looks really great. I would recommend the place - but I highly suggest the management do some training with the waitresses and maybe teach them some compassion. They won't be young forever. -

This is my second time coming here and I really like this place! The first time I came here I had a banquet burger and fries and it was really good. Big portions for a very reasonable price.
I was really craving fish and chips and I decided I would try it out at the cove. I ordered 2 pieces of halibut and fries. It was really yummy. Very fresh and flaky. I should of got just one piece of fish because it's a big portion! Big enough to share I would say for a lighter lunch/dinner. I had a glass of wine-reasonably priced, and good-I also had a slice of the homemade strawberry rhubarb pie and it was good. Give it a try! -

I didn't have very high expectations looking at the exterior of this restaurant. However, I quickly realized upon going inside this place was likely a gem. I went around dinner with a friend to find the cafe/restaurant nearly full. There were many people in the 60 plus category eating there which is a sign of good prices and good food. The food was excellent, it's simple well cooked and fresh. The portions were great. They had an assortment of at least homemade pies that looked outstanding. My friend has the coconut cream pie which had lots of fresh coconut in. I had the cheesecake but I think their pies are definitely the way to go.
